These projects also reinforce basic math skills including grouping, ordering, and spatial orientation. Your children can develop visual-motor coordination and manual dexterity; discrimination of texture, shape, and color; and communications skills as they complete fun projects.
Each project includes patterns, illustrations, and easy-to-understand step-by-step instructions to be read aloud to your child. Every finished product will be a recognizable zoo animal. It's an easy shift, then, to move into a discussion of the unique characteristics of that animal—or how you could change the use of the pattern or the animal which has been created.
