A Student Health Textbook for High School. Though most of this book is simply about physical health, Susan Boe from West Linn, Oregon, says in her preface that she wrote this book "to provide a sound, inspirational guide to good health." Dr. Paul Brand in his forward congratulates her for succeeding. "To her and to me also total health means that our behavior matters to our health and to our happiness . . . We are body, mind, and spirit, and . . . we cannot be truly healthy or truly happy unless we follow the laws of God who made us." Some subtitles show how health is always set in the context of people being God's creations: "God in the Doctor's Office" in Physical Health; "I am Made in Whose Image?" in Mental Health; "More than Just Saying ‘No'" under Social Health; and "In My Father's House" under Spiritual Health.
Those four main divisions of the book are broken down into fourteen chapters, written in a friendly, narrative style. Each chapter ends with a review and a list of suggested activities. The side bars on the pages make it easy to note key phrases. The book has illustrations, notes, bibliography, glossary, and an index. This and I Kissed Dating Goodbye are the texts used in Hewitt's high school health course.
