The goal of this course is three-fold: (1) to look at what you believe about God, yourself, and the world, i.e., your worldview, using Susan Schaeffer Macaulay’s
How to Be Your Own Selfish Pig; (2) to challenge yourself to be “your own self, at your best, all the time using William Danforth’s
I Dare You; and (3) to think about those around you—at home, in your community, and abroad using
Window on the World. Middle school students are ready for a dare. They will also read and respond to the New Testament (except for the Gospels — covered in the
The Life of Christ course — and Revelation). Junior high is a transitional period between childhood and adulthood. Take the challenge and lay a foundation that your student can build on for the rest of his/her life.
