These sets of readers provide a delightful transition from kindergarten reading skills to those of grade one. Each book, featuring true-to-life facts about one animal, is written in a simple format, relying on whimsical black-and-white picture clues. They make it easy for a child to exclaim, "I read the whole book." The books increase in challenge. Each book contains a list of phonics concepts used so that you can present any new concepts before beginning to read the book. If you are using the readers with the A Bee Sees unit program, teaching instructions are included in the teacher's manual.

Set II contains five booklets: Vixen and her Pups (fox); The Lady with a Hump (ladybug); Watch What I Can Do! (frog); Turtle, the Orphan (turtle); So Deep, So Wide, and So High (eagle).
