The goal of Hewitt's Discipleship course is to increase your students' levels of discipleship. A daily schedule directs the student through Navigators' four small books in the Design for Discipleship (DFD) for the first two quarters and then an inductive Bible study using two books, Renovation of the Heart in Daily Practice and Celebration of Discipline, for the second semester. Christianbook.com is a good place to look for these books or try Amazon.com.

Part of this study includes developing daily devotions, praying, and keeping a prayer journal. In addition to the daily assignments from the textbooks, the student will read all of Psalms, Proverbs, and the New Testament by the end of the year and to write at least one small paper each week that relates to the reading. Students wanting to receive an "A" for the class, also have to read one additional book per quarter and write a book report. Someone once said that it's hard to live for God easy, but easy to live for God hard. This course is designed to help students find the easy way to live hard.
