Grade Four Lightning Lit Preview

This will be our fourth year of our elementary program, and again, you will read more great children’s books with your child, discuss them together, and use them as a springboard for grammar and composition. Each week, your child will read a portion of a chapter book, answer a variety of questions about it; learn something new about grammar, punctuation, and/or literature; complete a few workbook pages; write a short composition. (The program allows for read–aloud and dictation for any children who aren’t reading and/or writing yet.) There are other activities as well, and extra challenge projects if you wish to go further.

If you would like to be a Field Tester for us and receive the Grade 4 program, click here.

We will start sending out lessons in the fall of 2015. We cannot guarantee to keep up with the weekly schedule. You will have to allow the author a lot of wiggle room for the next three years. The lessons become more complex as do the literary ideas and grammar, as we progress through the years, and it just takes more time to put together not only the chosen books, but the lessons themselves.

For Grade 3 we had over 350 field testers! Welcome to our new friends, and to those of you who have been with us for the earlier years!

P.S. We will be adding an outline and booklist later this summer.
